Clarence Edward Neal, III, known as “Rance”, 17, left this world on Saturday, June 22, 2019, at his home here in Chattanooga.
Rance was born on November 13, 2001, in Chattanooga, to Clarence “Eddie” Neal, Jr. and Rhonda Powell Neal. He was an exceptionally fun-loving young man and was known by his family and friends to be bright, clever, and courageous. He could brighten a room with his mischievous smirk and his quick witted sense of humor. Rance was a rising senior at Chattanooga School for the Arts & Sciences (CSAS) where he was loved and admired by many. His technological savvy made him the “go to” for many friends and family who were in need of tech support.
Rance is survived by his parents, Clarence “Eddie” and Rhonda Neal; his younger brother, Raymond “R.L.” Neal; his “brother” Grandall Massengale; his grandmother Phyllis Powell Stubblefield; his maternal uncle and aunt Melvin and Amanda Powell; his paternal aunt and uncle Channey and Jennifer Lewis; his cousins Riley, David, and Luke Powell, and Frances Lewis; his girlfriend Ashlyn Ellison and beloved pet Wilson.
Visitation will take place on Friday, June 28, from 4-9 p.m. and Saturday, June 29, from 11 a.m.- 1 p.m., at Lane Funeral Home on Ashland Terrace in Chattanooga. Graveside services will take place at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 29, at Forrest Hills Cemetery in Chattanooga. All are welcome.
In lieu of flowers, the family encourages donations to be made to the Tennessee Suicide Prevention Network.
