A Jasper, Tn., man has been sentenced to 10 years in federal prison on child pornography charges.
Daniel Thomas, who appeared before Judge Curtis Collier, will also be under supervised release for 10 years.
Homeland Security investigators said they received a lead from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children concerning two videos of child pornography that had been transmitted over the Internet. The IP address was found to be at Jasper.
Agents began monitoring the online activities of Thomas and found that he had transmitted images of young females.
There was a search of his home in August 2017 in which his computers were seized as well as flash drives.
Thomas admitted downloading and viewing child pornography for approximately three years. He also admitting visiting chat rooms and reposting child pornography images. He admitted having child pornography on his computers and files.
Agents said they found thousands of images of child pornography on the Thomas computers and files. They said 2,070 of the images and 243 videos contained images of known child victims.
