Biloxi,MS -  A six-run fifth inning propelled the Biloxi Shuckers to a 6-2 victory over the Chattanooga Lookouts on Thursday night at MGM Park. All six runs for the Shuckers came with two outs as Biloxi took the first game of a six-game series.

Lookouts starting pitcher Tony Santillan had returned from the injured list just last week, where it was noted he had a shoulder injury,. He only missed one start, but struggled in his first start back against the Shuckers.. He walked four batters without a strikeout in 2.0 innings. He didn’t return for the 3rd inning after throwing 50 pitches over the first two frames.

Chattanooga took a 2-0 lead in the fourth inning

In the bottom of the fifth, Corey Ray started the big rally with a two-out single to right. Bruce Caldwell followed by with a double into the right-field corner, driving in Ray from first to bring Biloxi within a run at 2-1. 

Patrick Leonard tripled to center off Lookouts reliever RHP Aaron Fossas (L, 4-3) , scoring Caldwell to tie the game at 2-2.

After a walk and a single through the third-base hole, Leonard to put Biloxi out in front 3-2.

Fossas, who had replaced injured starter Santillan, departed in favor of LHP Ty Boyles, who served up an 0-1 pitch that Biloxi's Cooper Hummel cranked over the left-field wall for a three-run homer  to give the Shuckers a 6-2 advantage and the final score.

     Friday evening the Lookouts send LHP-Packy Naughton (4-5,2.98) against RHP-Alec Bettinger(45,3.49). Air time on 98.1 FM is set for 6:20 EDT.
