In Jesus’ Commission to His disciples to go into all the world we are to present the Gospel without partiality for all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.
All encompasses rich and poor, black and white, male and female and whatever you feel to call yourself and the Bible warns against being partial or selective in James Chapter 2 in whom we present the Good News to.
Our country was established with all men being equal and judgment and justice is to be applied equally without favor or choice and in several instances, both locally and nationally, where it seems that this has not been true.
In the Hinds case, for some reason we have seen leniency that many have questioned, this even before it goes to court.
The warning here is that there may be - or should I say will be - another case with similar circumstances but possibly not of the same color or connections as Janet Hinds and this may trigger something which our city may not want.
We also have the high profile arrest of Jeffrey Epstein who being convicted previously for sexually abusing a minor and for all intentions receive a non-sentence due to his money and connections (or maybe the information he has on others). It’s easy to see that if one has the money and connections that there is no charge even with a conviction that leniency cannot be procured. With the Epstein case I’m sure that the names of political and Hollywood heroes will also be brought out and that we will have some who will try to stand and defend or be completely silent as this all unfolds.
