Corlis Jackson
Corlis Denise Smith Jackson, 63, was born September 11, 1955, to the late Clarence and Bernice Smith in Chattanooga, Tennessee.
She went home to be with her heavenly Father on Sunday, July 14, 2019. She was a graduate of Howard High School class of 1972. She was a member of the Bethlehem Wiley Church and accepted Christ at an early age. Corlis was a kind, loving person who loved her family. She enjoyed watching westerns on television, going fishing and entertaining with her family. As stated by her daughter, Charity, her mom was her best friend. Her favorite Bible scripture was Psalm 23:1-6.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie Jackson; parents, Clarence and Bernice Fields Smith; grandmother, Bena Fields; and brother, Montee Green.
She leaves to cherish her many precious memories her four children, Terrance Jackson, Solomon Jackson, Charity (Michael) Thompson, and Jared Jackson; stepdaughter, Andre Jackson Moses; siblings, Diane Austin of Chattanooga and Rodney (Matilyn) Fields of Minneapolis, Minnesota; uncle, Willie Jackson of Chattanooga; sister-in-law, Betty (Eddie) Powell, Nashville, TN; brothers-in-law, Lurone (Glenda) Jennings and Tommy Lee Jennings; grandchildren, Alexis Woodruff, Teeosha Jackson, Jerrian Jackson, Solomon Jackson, Jr.; other family members, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
She will lie in state will be held 9-11 a.m. on Friday, July 19, at the funeral home followed by a chapel service at 11 a.m. Interment will be in Chattanooga National Cemetery.
