Alfred Walker
Alfred Leroy Walker, Jr., 67, of Chattanooga, passed away on Wednesday, July 17, 2019, in a local hospital.
He was a 1970 graduate of Valley Head High School. He was a veteran of the United States Army and served in the Vietnam War. Alfred attended New Covenant Fellowship Church.
He was preceded in death by his father, Alfred Walker, Sr. and mother, Almeta Winston.
Survivors include his wife of 37 years, Juanita Walker; sons, Charles (Syrenthia) Walker of El Paso, TX, Alfred (Leah) Walker, III, and Alfred A. (Jamika) Walker, all of Chattanooga; daughter, Jennifer Walker of Buffalo, NY; seven grandchildren; sisters, Nancy (Jim) Height and Martha (Kareem) Shabazz, both of Chattanooga; several nieces; nephews; cousins; other relatives and friends.
He will lie in state on Tuesday, July 23, at 9 a.m. at New Covenant Fellowship Church.
The funeral service will follow at noon with Pastor Dr. Bernie Miller as the eulogist.
Burial will be in Chattanooga National Cemetery.
