A 25-year-old man was shot while riding in a car on Gillespie Road in Brainerd on Thursday afternoon.
At approximately 2:04 p.m., Chattanooga Police responded to the area of 200 Tunnel Road on a report of a person shot.
Upon arrival, police learned that the shooting occurred in the 800 block of Gillespie Road and the victim had been transported to a local hospital.
Police secured the scene and contacted the CPD Violent Crimes Bureau.
Investigators spoke with the victim who advised he was riding in a car when he heard gunshots and realized he had been shot.
