The finale of the Friday Festivals is set for Friday from 7-9:30 p.m. with the group, The Dexter Thomas Band. The Friday Festival is a free, family-oriented event sponsored by Wacker—Charleston and presented by MainStreet Cleveland and the Cleveland/Bradley Chamber of Commerce Tourism Development. The two organizations teamed up to give the residents of Cleveland and Bradley County, and visitors to the area, a summer of special events each Friday in June and July.
The Friday Festival features live music, food from local restaurants and vendors and free bounce houses for the children.
Food vendors will be available offering shaved ice, barbecue and kettle corn for purchase.
"The summer concert series concludes this Friday with The Dexter Thomas Band, a long-time local favorite," officials said. "This veteran group of talented musicians was formed in 1995 and performs high-energy shows throughout the South in a wide variety of venues. The band's crowd-pleasing mix of '60's through '90's rock and roll and rhythm and blues have garnered a large following. The 12-piece band features a dynamic combination of male and female lead vocals, allowing for maximum stylistic diversity."
Streets will be closed around the Bradley Courthouse by 6 p.m. and organizers point out that there is plenty of downtown parking for those coming to the first of the First Friday Festivals. "Bring a chair to the Courthouse Square and enjoy," organizers said.
