Man In U.S. Illegally Pleads Guilty To Raping 13-Year-Old Girl In East Ridge

A man who is in the U.S. illegally on Tuesday pleaded guilty to the rape of a 13-year-old girl at a residence in East Ridge on April 15.

Sebastian Perez-Gomez was sentenced to serve eight years in state prison at 100 percent. He could get 15 percent off for good behavior.

The sentencing record was 8-12 years. The eight years was agreed between the prosecution and defense.

Police said the girl was taking a nap when Perez-Gomez began taking her clothes off. Prosecutor Tom Landis said she fought back and told him to stop, but he overcame her.

Perez-Gomez was later found in a tree in woods behind the home on Dugan Street. A K-9 was used to apprehend him.

Prosecutor Landis said there is an ICE hold on Perez-Gomez.

Judge Don Poole said Perez-Gomez will be deported when he finishes his sentence.

Perez-Gomez, speaking through an interpreter, said he went to school through fourth grade. He said he did not know his age, but believes it is 38.
