Ivy Snow Ervin, age 22, of Huntsville, AL, formerly of Signal Mountain, TN, passed away unexpectedly, Saturday, August, 9, 2019.

 

She was born August 4, 1997 in Chattanooga. 

 

Ivy was a 2015 graduate of Signal Mountain High School where she was a cheerleader from 6th -12th grade.  She also cheered for Integrity Elite Cheer Team.  She was also a winner of the Tennessee D.A.R.E Contest. 

 

She graduated Magna Cum Laude with her Bachelor of Arts in Communication & Information Sciences Degree from the University of Alabama in 2018.  While at Alabama, she was a member of Zeta Tau Alpha Sorority and was the founder of the Rotaract Club.

 

Ivy interned for WTVC News Channel 9 the summer of 2017 and went on to work for WVUA Channel 23 in Tuscaloosa, AL and most recently was employed as a News Reporter for WHNT Channel 19 in Huntsville, AL.  

 

Her grandparents, Reece and Dorothy Ervin, and aunt, Donna Caldwell, preceded her in death.

 

Survivors include her mother, Sharon Germ Ervin of Signal Mountain; father, David Ervin of Mountain City, TN; sister, Winter Ervin of Signal Mountain; grandparents, John and Judy Germ of Soddy Daisy; boyfriend, Forrest Petty of Huntsville; aunts and uncles, Steve (Laura) Germ of Rock Spring, GA, Greg (Debbie) Germ of Soddy Daisy, Jeff (Aimee) Germ of Hixson, Eddie (Angela) Ervin of Hixson, and JoAnn Ervin of Chattanooga; and several cousins.

 

The family will receive friends Tuesday, August 13, 2019 from 4-6 p.m. at the funeral home.  Funeral services will begin at 6 p.m. in the North Chapel with Belinda Martin, Mike Royer, and Dr. Fred Steelman officiating.  Burial will be private.
