Velma Jones
Velma Jones gained her heavenly wings on August 9, 2019, surrounded by her family.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Ann Grant and Willie Mae Cox; three nephew, Wiley Grant, Tyrone Cox and Fontea Jarrett; four nieces, Deborah, Susie Ann, Betty Jean and Gail Cox; a brother-in-Law, Philip Cox, Sr.
She leaves to cherish her memory a daughter, Angelus Jones; a brother, Willie (Alice) Jones of Rhode Island; three sisters, Ernestine Branner of Knoxville; Lynette Stuart and Josie Ellis of Virginia; and a host of family and friends.
The body will lie in state from 9 a.m.-12:30 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 15, at the funeral home, followed immediately by a 1 p.m. graveside service at Forest Hills Cemetery.
