Florence Vaughn
Florence Deloris Vaughn, 90, of Chattanooga, Tennessee, passed away Saturday, August 10, 2019 in a local healthcare facility.
She was a long-time employee at Silverdale Correctional Center and later at Chambliss Center for Children, both of Chattanooga. She was also a longtime, faithful member of New Hope Missionary Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harvey Vaughn; daughter, Mary Hermon; four sisters and one brother.
Those left to cherish her precious memories are her son, Jesse (Janelle) Vaughn; grandsons, Gabriel (LaTonia) Vaughn and Antawan, both of Chattanooga; granddaughters, Shae (Jimmy) Laird and Daka, both of Los Angeles, Ca., Kiesha (Marcus) Cosey, and Sonya Hermon, both of Chattanooga; son-in-law, Joseph Hermon of Marietta, Ga.; and a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and devoted friends.
She will lie-in-state on Friday, Aug. 16, at 9 a.m. at Taylor Funeral Home.
Visitation will be at 11 a.m. at New Hope Missionary Baptist Church, followed by the funeral at 12 p.m. with Pastor Wayne L. Johnson as the eulogist.
Burial will be in Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
