Paula Byers Ferguson, 66, passed away on Friday, August 9, 2019, in Chattanooga.

Paula was a 1970 graduate of Central High School. She was a fun and energetic person who spread love, smiles and hugs to everyone she met.  Paula was last employed with Wedgewood Cleaners where she was a professional presser doing what she loved for over 30 plus years. She was a true servant of God. Paula was a member of the usher board at Rock Island Baptist Church where she took her position seriously and greeted everyone with a smile assisting however she could.

She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Lula Byrd Johnson; grandfather, Leonard Pucket; mother, Loren Turner Byers and son, Kenny Byers.

She leave to cherish her memories her husband, Bennie F. Ferguson, son Chadwick D. Byers; daughter, LaShannon (Marcus) McConnell; two brothers, Jonathan Byers of Chattanooga and Ronnie Byers of Atlanta Ga.; five granddaughters, Kayla Byers, Teaira Byers, Aaliyah Featherstone, Todja Featherstone and Saniya Byers; three grandsons, Sonaji Byers, Dondre Byers and Savari Byers and a host of nieces, nephews and several friends that she spoke with daily.

The body will lie in state beginning from 9 a.m.-1 p. m. on Friday, Aug. 16, at the funeral home.

A funeral service will follow at 1 p.m. in the chapel. Interment will be at Greenwood Cemetery.
