Five Below Opens Near Hamilton Place Next Week

  • Friday, August 16, 2019

The Shoppes at Hamilton Place’s newest tenant Five Below will open a nearly 9,000-square-foot store at 2040 Hamilton Place Blvd., Suite 760 on Friday, Aug. 23.

The store features items such as levitating superheroes, 10-cent candy, bluetooth speakers, every shade of eye shadow and funny T-shirts, all for $5 or less?

The first 100 people in line for the store opening at 9 a.m. on Friday will get a mystery scratch-off ticket valued somewhere between $1 and $100. Shoppers can enjoy trivia and enter to win a $100 gift card raffle each weekend day. The first 300 to make a purchase Friday, Saturday and Sunday will receive a free cinch sack.

The store will have a 5-cent hot dog cart onsite Friday from 3-6 p.m. and Saturday from 11 a.m.-2 p.m.

“We’ve been actively pursuing the Hamilton Place area for some time and are thrilled to become part of the Chattanooga community with our new location in The Shoppes at Hamilton Place” said Zach Minteer, vice president of real estate at Five Below.

With over $1.5 billion in annual sales, Five Below is one of the fastest growing retailers in the world, and is the only tween and teen dedicated retailer in the U.S. The company has more than 800 stores in 36 states with 1,700 more to come. Their aim is to bring the wow by offering the coolest and trendiest stuff at a price that cannot be beat, said officials.

“Five Below is a wonderful new addition to our property, and we’re eager for the energy the store will bring to our growing campus,” said Jan Wills, vice president and general manager of Hamilton Place.

The new store joins the ranks of several recent stores who have signed on to join the Hamilton Place family. Athleta and Duck Donuts are currently under construction at Hamilton Corner. And the newly opened Pop-Up Shop continues to book local boutiques for week-long stints. Five are currently signed on for a total of 10 weeks between now and the end of the year.

On top of new store announcements and openings, Hamilton Place is undergoing the largest redevelopment in the shopping center’s history on the land formerly owned by Sears. The first milestone was The Cheesecake Factory opening in December 2018. In months to come, Dave & Buster’s, Aloft by Marriott, DICK’S Sporting Goods and Class “A” office space will be added to the property, along with additional restaurants and specialty tenants.
