Shirley Turney, 76, passed away on August 16, 2019.  

Mrs. Turney was a member of Harrison United Methodist.  A published author, Mrs. Turney wrote two books titled Gray’s Island and Graysville - You Can’t Get There When the Creek Rises.  She also loved quilting.  She was a wonderful wife and mother and is dearly missed.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ansel and Mabel Brock.

She is survived by her husband of 56 years, John, and sons, Richard (Martha) Turney and Peter (Alice) Turney; brother, Billy Brock; sisters, Frances Holder and Patsy King; five grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Monday, August 19, from 10 a.m.–2 p.m. at Turner Funeral Home, Highway 58. The funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. in the Turner Funeral Home chapel with Pastor Adam McKee officiating. Mrs. Turney will be laid to rest in Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
