Where's The Equality For Sale Creek Schools?

  • Tuesday, August 20, 2019

Sale Creek Middle/High School is such a jewel in the Hamilton County School system.  The community is so proud of Sale Creek for achieving level 5 in all academic areas as well as being designated a “Reward School” which is the top distinction a school can earn the Tennessee. The teachers are dedicated, the parents are supportive and the students are wonderful.

This pride runs exceptionally deep because of the unleveled playing field on which we are made to play.  I believe I can speak for many in Sale Creek when I say we accept the fact that “no” is the universal answer we will receive every time we make a request to improve the educational process for our students.  However, we would just like to know why.

Can you tell us why we are the only HCDE Middle School unable to offer Art?

Can you tell us why we are not provided an eLab Specialist despite our proposal on being deemed #1 by the eLab selection committee?

Can you tell us why we do not have a registrar even though schools with far less students have one?

Can you tell us why we are the only HCDE Middle School unable to offer Spanish?

Can you tell us why we must settle for discarded goal posts and scoreboards for our practice football field?

Can you tell us why we must provide funding and labor for sod on our practice football field while millions of dollars are spent on other HCDE schools’ athletic facilities?

Can you tell us why we must beg to secure venues to play football and soccer?

We know the answer is no, but please, just tell us why?
