The Chattanooga Lookouts and the Montgomery Biscuits have announced that due to a tragic event within the Biscuits family the Lookouts are cancelling Tuesday night's (Aug. 27) games.
It was later that the wife and child of Biscuits pitcher Blake Bivens were killed in a triple homicide in Virginia.
“Our thoughts are with the entire Tampa Bay Rays and Montgomery Biscuits organizations at this time,” said Lookouts President Rich Mozingo. “We want to express our deepest condolences and sympathies to the Biscuits family.”
With the cancellation of the games, the Lookouts home season ends, Chattanooga has five games remaining with the Tennessee Smokies beginning Thursday evening.
The outcome of these games determines whether the Lookouts (22-40) or the Smokies (21-42) finish the second half in the last place in the North Division of the Southern League.
