Retired From G.C. Murphy And K-Mart After Many Years

Wilma “Granny” Pressley, 89, of Rossville, passed away on Sunday, September 8, 2019, with her family by her side.  

She was a native of Athens, Tn., had lived most of her life in the Rossville area, and was of the Church of God faith.  Mrs. Pressley retired from G.C. Murphy with over 20 years of service and in the early 2000’s she retired from the K-Mart in East Ridge with 23 years of service. Her passions in life were spending time with her family, gardening, and working in the yard. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Tom Pressley; son, Wayne Pressley; daughter, Margaret Land; one brother; three sisters; and grandson, Robert Land.

Survivors include four grandchildren, Dale Williams of Rossville, Gene Land of Rossville, Becca Dixon of E. Ridge, and Amy Kendrick of Rossville; nine great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, Sept. 12, at 9 a.m. in the South Crest Chapel.

Interment will follow in the Lakewood South Memory Gardens.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, Sept. 11, from 12-2 and 4-8 p.m. at the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home and Crematory, at the end of historic Missionary Ridge, Rossville.
