James David Ford, 48, of Hixson, passed away on Friday, September 13, 2019, at his residence.

David was born in Chattanooga on November 10, 1970. He graduated from Lookout Valley High School, class of ’89 and earned several AA degrees from Chattanooga State.  He was an IT specialist for Tapistron Int. and Chattanooga State. David was a world traveler and collector and loved the outdoors. He was a member of Abba’s House. 

He was preceded in death by his father, Rev. James B. Ford; grandparents, Bernard and Mamie Flerl and Lola Cox. 

Survivors include his mother, Wanda Flerl Ford of Hixson; sister, De’Vona Ford Anderson (Jim) of Hixson; nieces, Alexis and Emily Anderson of Hixson; aunt, Linda C. Flerl of Soddy Daisy; and other extended family members. 

The family will receive friends on Sunday, Sept. 15, from 4-8 p.m. and on Monday, Sept. 16, from 2-3 p.m. at Chattanooga Funeral Home North Chapel in Hixson.

The funeral will be in the funeral home chapel at 3 p.m. on Monday with Reverend Ronnie Phillips Jr. officiating. Interment will follow the services in Hamilton Memorial Gardens.

Arrangements are under the care of the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory and Florist, 5401 Highway 153, Hixson.
