The SuperHeroes Run for Hope will be held Saturday, benefiting Bethel
SuperHeroes Run for Hope, a family-friendly event, is set for Saturday in Hixson. There will be a 5K, a one-mile fun walk and a birthday party bash with cake and ice cream.
The run and walk start at 8:30 a.m. Registration will be available that morning, but runners can save $10 and walkers can save $5 by registering online by midnight on Friday.
For the kids will be games, bubble machines, and an inflatable soccer court from the Chattanooga Football Club Foundation.
Super hero-themed costumes are not required but make the event more fun. There will be medals awarded for all age groups and medals for the top costume. There will also be hundreds of prizes.
Bethel is celebrating 65 years of serving the community this year and so is Scenic Community Credit Union, the presenting sponsor for the Run for Hope. It’s their birthday, but anyone who runs, walks or makes a donation to Bethel at the race gets a gift.
Food City is providing the large birthday cake for the celebration and Mayfield Dairy has donated ice cream for everyone. They will also sing to Rosalind Connor, Bethel’s president, who celebrates a birthday that same day, although not her 65.
The run spans Bethel’s scenic campus as well as Hixson’s Greenway farms.
All proceeds go to help kids and families in crisis who are served by Bethel Bible Village.
“Everyone who runs, walks or comes to support Bethel on Saturday is a Hero for Hope,” says Ms. Connor. “Beyond the capes and costumes, these heroes change lives and make a meaningful difference. And today, our community has a greater need than ever for programs that can help children heal from trauma and life-altering events.”
