-The Chattanooga Mocs women’s golf team finished their final hole on Tuesday with a seventh-place finish at the Mercedes-Benz Collegiate in Knoxville. After a day of classes, it’s back on the road to Franklin, Tenn., just south of Nashville for the Mason Rudolph Championships.
It’s the seventh appearance at the Vanderbilt Legends Club in an event that always attracts a strong field. This year is no different with nine teams that competed in the NCAA Championships in 2019 with four advancing to the finals as one, Auburn, reached match play for the title.
Senior Maddy McDanel posted three even-par cards to start the campaign.
Esme Hamilton and Dorota Zalewska registered their first career par or better collegiate cards and Rheagan Hall was consistent finishing in the top half of a quality player leaderboard. Kirsty Beckwith and Michaela Kulhankova both turned in low rounds as well.
This weekend’s quintet looks to build on a promising start. The Mocs turned in an 872 at Cherokee Country Club. It’s the best season-opening total in school history.
The 15-team field plays 54 holes with 18 per day, Friday through Sunday, to decide team and individual champions. Tee times and scores can be accessed at the links above when available.
