The Chattanooga Christian football team held the undefeated Bucs of Boyd-Buchanan scoreless in the second half to earn a big 31-21 region win Friday night at CCS.
The homecoming crowd watched the Chargers fall behind 21-10 in the second quarter after Boyd scored on runs by David Dixon and two by quarterback Eli Evans.
CCS ended the second quarter with a 39 yard screen pass to Jamichael Baxter to cut the lead to 21-17.
Runs by Roderick Young and Traveon Scott in the third quarter gave the Chargers 31-21. CCS held the Bucs in the fourth quarter to earn the win.
CCS had 384 yards total offense.
CCS quarterback Sam Hall was 7 of 11 for 166 yards and two touchdowns.
Jamicheal Baxter had 19 rushes for 82 yards. Traveon Scott rushed for 69 yards on nine rushes and Rod Young had 64 yards on five rushes.
Micheal Houge had 73 yards on four catches.
Boyd-Buchanan had 284 yards.
Boyd-Buchanan quarterback Eli Morris was 17 of 24 for 184 yards and one interceptions.
David Dixon had 12 rushes for 46 yards and Evans rushed 15 times for 44 yards.
Boyd's Karson Gay had seven receptions for 83 yards.
The Chargers will be on the road next week as they face off with CAK. Boyd-Buchanan will also play on the road at Hixson.
