Fireside: Outdoor Concert Series Live At Greenway Farms Park Begins Oct. 7

  • Monday, September 23, 2019

Fireside is a free, family-friendly, outdoor concert series that gathers around a campfire at the City of Chattanooga’s Greenway Farms Park Thursday evenings in October from 7-9 p.m. The series is sponsored by Tennessee Valley Federal Credit Union and hosted by Outdoor Chattanooga and Open Spaces Chattanooga.

"We invite all ages to come out, unplug and enjoy an autumn evening in the park listening to local musicians," organizers said.  "Bring your blankets and chairs, marshmallow roasting stick and perhaps a picnic supper; then sit back and enjoy live music in a rustic outdoor setting."

Tennessee Valley Federal Credit Union’s sponsorship will provide a different family-friendly activity each evening.

The stage is located on the porch of the Sniteman Log Cabin behind the private gardens at the park.

2019 Fireside concert schedule, bio and giveaways:

Oct. 3 ~ Lou Wamp and The Bluetastics
Lou Wamp and a company of veteran pickers both honor the bluegrass tradition and give it a new kick. Instrumental prowess and vocal style showcase fine original material based in bluegrass, western swing, & swampy blues. They love to infuse the music with their own arrangements, original compositions, and nods to other genres of sound.
*As the fall nights turn cooler, register to win one of a dozen stadium blankets from TVFCU.

Oct. 10 ~ Lew Card
Lew Card is not just a songwriter, he is a song. He is a story.
He is a Chattanoogan and he has come a long way in recent years, with four albums and over 1,000 social media followers. Lew plays delicate acoustics with grand folk-singing and plenty of Southern grit.
*What better way to enjoy a fall evening by the firepit than with a s’more? Some yummy s’more kits will be available, courtesy of TVFCU and Food City. (limited quantity)

Oct. 17 ~ Stringer’s Ridge Band
Stringer’s Ridge is a string band that crosses musical and geographic boundaries, playing mostly instrumental tunes, with diverse and eclectic influences and a strong focus on Celtic, Old-Time, and String Band music—that could veer off into other eclectic/world/fiddle genres at a moment’s notice.
*Enjoy freshly popped locally-grown popcorn over the fire, compliments of Crabtree Farms and TVFCU.

Oct. 24 ~ Randy Steele
Randy Steele offers a musical journey and masterful storytelling through his original banjo music, melding the best elements of Bluegrass and Country music. He can be heard here and across the oceans as long-time frontman with Slim Pickins or with his concurrent career as an emerging solo artist.
*The first 200 concertgoers will receive a complimentary flashlight, which will be perfect for guiding your way to the car after the concert.
