A Chattanooga family safely escaped a house fire on Wednesday, and firefighters successfully kept the blaze contained to one area, preventing flames from spreading to the rest of the home.
The fire happened before 5 p.m. in the Belleau Woods subdivision in the 8000 block of Pershing Street.
Neighbors called 911 to report that they could see flames coming from the house. Crews found heavy fire in the attic above the garage.
Three adults and one child got out safely.
Firefighters worked quickly to get the fire extinguished, containing it to the attic.
Officials determined that it was accidental in nature.
Quint 21, Quint 8, Quint 7, Squad 7, Quint 6, Squad 19 and Squad 13 responded.
There were no injuries.
The Red Cross was notified to assist the impacted residents.
