Yohanna Parks, 66, left to be with the Lord on September 4, 2019.

She was a 1971 graduate of Tyner High school, Tennessee State University and Trevecca Nazarene University. She retired from the Hamilton County Department of Education as an educator at East Brainerd Elementary School. Ms. Parks was a member of Mt. Calvary Baptist Church and Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Sophia Parks, and brother, Andre Parks.

Ms. Parks leaves to cherish her memories her sisters, Renee Merrell and, Felicia Pryor of Newport News, Va., sister-in-law, Linda Parks of Little Rock, Ar., other relatives and dear friends.

The Delta Sigma Theta Sorority's Omega Omega ceremony will be held at 6 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 12, in the funeral home chapel and the family will receive friends from 6:30-7:30 p.m.

The funeral service will be held at noon on Friday, Sept. 13, at Mt. Calvary Baptist Church. Interment will be in Lakewood Gardens - East.

Arrangements are by John P. Franklin Funeral Home, 1101 Dodds Ave., 622-9995.
