Claud Franklin Friddell, 60, of Harrison, Tennessee, took his heavenly flight from here to glory Saturday, January 4, 2020.

A lifelong resident of the Harrison area, he was a faithful and active member of Oak Grove Church of God, and was retired from Savannah Valley Utility District with over 25 years of service. He was a member of Highway 58, Volunteer Fire Department Station #2 since 1988, which was his passion.  He loved to serve and help people whenever he could.  He was also a member of the NRA and was a strong believer in the 2nd Amendment.

Claud loved to buy Bibles for those who didn’t have one and for pastors in other countries he didn’t know through SBN.  He loved NASCAR Racing, was an avid lover of TV Land and the Atlanta Braves.  He was a 100% fan of Elvis and collected all kinds of Elvis memorabilia. He also love to collect hobby cars. Claud was a stage 4 cancer survivor for eight years.

He was preceded in death by his dad, Frank Friddell; maternal grandparents, Claud and Ruth Dill; paternal grandparents, Shirley and Bessie Friddell; several aunts, uncles and his special nephew Eli Williams.

Survivors are his mother, Glenda Friddell; sister, Carol (Chuck) Achey, nephew, Randall Russell, niece, Heather (Emory) Williams, great-nephew, Noah Williams, Aunts, Betty Pritchard, Yvonne Cox, Gloria and Patsy along with several cousins.

Claud will be missed by his family and friends, work buddies, fellow firemen and church family.

Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 12, in the Valley View Chapel with the Reverend Orville Harvel and the Reverend Darrell Rose officiating. Interment will follow in Old McDonald Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 2-8 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 11, and from noon until the time of the service on Sunday at the Valley View Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory & Florist, 7414 Old Lee Highway.
