Benjamin Ernest Long, age 77, of Rocky Face, Georgia, departed this life, Friday, January 10, 2020 at a local hospital.
He was born July 24, 1942 in Dalton, Ga., a son of the late Ben Long Sr. and Willie May Hasty Long. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Edward J. Long.
He was a member of the Dunn’s Rock Lodge #267 A.F. & A. M.
He is survived by his companion, Rosella Caylor of Rocky Face, Ga.; and daughter, Ashari DiMera of Asheville, N.C.
A service to celebrate the life of Mr. Benjamin Ernest Long Jr. will be held Thursday, Jan. 16, at 11 a.m. from the Ponders Melrose Chapel with Reverend Raymond McCranie and Reverend Bruce Beach officiating.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday, Jan. 15, from 5-9 p.m.
He will be laid to rest at the Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery.
