Evelyn Thompson
Evelyn Weaver Thompson, of Trion, passed away on Sunday, January 12, 2020, at the age of 84.
She was born on Feb. 4, 1935, and was a native of Walker County where she lived her life lovingly raising her family with Fred Thompson, her husband of 69 years.
She loved to sing and she loved attending church where she was a member of Old Way Baptist. She made the best biscuits and gravy in the whole world. She loved her Lord and her family was her greatest joy.
She was preceded in death by her sons, Gary Thompson and Freddie Ray Thompson; daughter, Paulette Kinsey; parents, Bessie and Andrew Weaver; sisters, Hazel Walker and Dora Pfeil; and brothers, Ralph, Billy, Leroy, and Phillip Weaver.
She is survived by her husband, Fred Thompson of Trion; daughters, Judy (Roger) Williams of Rock Spring, Nancy (David) Bruce of LaFayette, Tiny Pinkerton of LaFayette, Sandy Thompson of LaFayette, Tracy (Brent) Riddle of Chickamauga, and Jennifer (Kris) Minton of Trion; sons, David (JoAnn) Thompson of Trion and Carl Thompson of Dalton; grandchildren, Beth Witt, Jamie Thompson, Jace Thompson, Joseph Thompson, Jon Kinsey, William Pence, Christopher Pence, Miranda Zavala, Heather Pence, Javan Thompson, Amber Stepanek, Evie Watters, Alyssa Riddle, and Aedan Minton, great grandchildren, Caitlin Witt, Kristen Curtis, Sara Witt, Jacob Thompson, Jolee Thompson, Jade Thompson, Faith Thompson, Alexandria Thompson, Elias Thompson, Byrann Kinsey, Braedyn Kinsey, Brennan Kinsey, Alexia Pence, McKenna Pence, Lila Pence, Dillon Williams, Koleigh Williams, Evan Thompson, Kaidence Bagley, Greyson Pence, Emery Zavala, Denim Zavala, Zachery Thompson, Tyler Thompson, Aubrey Stepanek, and Landon Stepanek; sisters, Thelma Stephens, Willodean Cordell, and Jeanette Rushing; brothers, Kenneth, Thomas, and Jimmy Weaver; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 14, at Old Way Baptist Church with her son David Thompson officiating. Visitation will be held prior to the service after 12 p.m. at the church.
Interment will be at McIntyre Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Kris Minton, David Bruce, Joseph Thompson, Jace Thompson, Jimmy Pence, and Javan Thompson.
