Roy Irwin
Roy Ellis Irwin, 80, of Soddy Daisy, passed away in a local hospital on Monday, January 13, 2020.
Roy graduated from Soddy Daisy High School in 1957and retired from DuPont after 29 years of service. He was a member of Middle Valley Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Roberta Irwin; brothers, Charles and Noel Irwin and Bobby Brumlow.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Peggy Irwin; daughter, Tina (Scott Hyde) Johnson; son, R. Kenneth Irwin; sister, Bunny (Ray) Stephens, Terry (Lori) Brumlow, Jackie Brumlow; grandchildren, Eric (April) Johnson, Shelby, Haley and Katherine Irwin; sisters-in-law, Mildred and Patsy Irwin and Betty Johnson; great grandsons, Jeremy and Camden Johnson; several nieces, nephews, cousins and other family members and a host of friends.
Services will be on Friday, Jan. 17, at 1 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Jim Hensley and Pastor Mickey Bane officiating. Burial will follow at Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
Visitation is on Thursday, Jan. 16, from 4-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Roy’s family would like to thank their special lifetime friends, Claude and Delores Patterson. Also special thanks to CKC, North for their 10 years of great care.
