Partnership for Families, Children, and Adults is hosting RISE on Wednesday, Feb. 5. RISE focuses on how the community rises together to support neighbors in need. Each year this event focuses on one of the many programs Partnership provides to the community.
“RISE 2020 will showcase one of our most utilized programs, Deaf and Hard of Hearing Services," said Sharon Love, director of Philanthropy. "Deaf Services has served individuals with hearing disabilities in our community for over 45 years providing services and life skills training for the deaf, deaf-blind, and hard of hearing community members."
RISE 2020 will be held at The Westin Hotel at 11:30 a.m. featuring Derrick Coleman as guest speaker.
Mr. Coleman, deaf since the age of three, made history by becoming the NFL’s first deaf offensive player and a Super Bowl Champion. He comes to Chattanooga to share his journey and to inspire others with hearing challenges to pursue their dreams and goals despite obstacles that inevitably arise in life.
He coauthored the book, “No Excuses: Growing up deaf and achieving my Super Bowl dream”, which can be purchased and personally autographed by Mr. Coleman at the VIP Reception.
“This year Partnership is celebrating 143 years of service to the Tennessee Valley," said Pam Ladd, chief executive officer. "Showcasing our Deaf and Hard of Hearing Services at RISE 2020 allows us to share the many ways we help bridge the communication barriers for the hearing impaired in our community. Through sign language interpreters for individuals, businesses, medical practices and government entities, life skills training and community events we care for over 900 deaf and hard of hearing clients last year.”
Luncheon tickets are $75, $100 for VIP tickets (luncheon, reception and valet parking) and tables of eight are $1,000. Sponsorship opportunities are still available. Register online at PartnershipFCA.com/RISE.
