Donald Hatcher
Donald Richard Hatcher, 87, passed away on January 14, 2020.
Donald was of the Baptist faith. He received his associate's degree from McKenzie Business College. Donald served his country in the United States Air Force. He retired after 21 years of dedicated service with the rank of tech sergeant. He was a veteran of the Korean War and was stationed in many places throughout the world including Turkey and Thailand. After retiring from the Air Force he went to work as the director of Safety and Security at Chattanooga Municipal Airport. He also worked as a security guard at the Federal Reserve.
Donald was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Katherine Hatcher, his parents, James and Lillian Hatcher, brother, Garland Hatcher, sisters, Mamie, Frances and Virgie Hatcher.
Left behind to cherish Donald’s memory are his son, Ron (Shirley) Morgan, granddaughter, Kelly Morgan (James), loving nieces and nephews, special friends, Diane and Debbie.
A Celebration of Donald’s Life will be held in the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home on Tuesday, Jan. 21, at 12:30 pm.
The family will receive friends two hours prior beginning at 10:30 a.m. He will be laid to rest with his wife, Mary Katherine in the Chattanooga National Cemetery with full military honors.
