Betty Johnson
Betty L. Johnson, 92, of Ooltewah, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, January 15, 2020.
Betty was born in Tampa, Fl., on April 26, 1927, to the late Charles and Jewel Broome.
When she was a teenager, Betty moved to Chattanooga where she met the love of her life, “Speedy” Kennith K. Johnson, Sr. They were married for 71 years before he passed away three years prior.
Her passion in life was her family. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a member of Spring Creek Church of God.
Betty is preceded in death by her parents as well as her husband, Kenneth K. Johnson Sr.; sister, Rebecca Vaughn; and three grandsons, Bryan Johnson, Jonathan Frazier and William Johnson.
Survivors include her son, Kenneth K. Johnson Jr. (Jane); daughter, Susan Frazier (Terry); brother, Eugene Broome; grandchildren, Darren Johnson (Jennifer), Shawn Frazier (Laura), Justin Walker (Courtney), and Stephanie Woodby (Scott); great grandchildren, Lindsey Frazier, Brianna Frazier McKenna Walker, Beckett Walker, Aiden Woodby, and Addison Woodby.
The family will receive friends on Friday, Jan. 17, from 1-3 p.m. at Chattanooga Funeral Home North Chapel, Hixson. The funeral service will be in the funeral home chapel at 3 p.m. on Friday with Reverend Benny Mills and Reverend Don Stovall officiating. Interment will follow in Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
Arrangements are under the care of the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory and Florist, 5401 Highway 153, Hixson.
