Janie Bostic Lankford, was born on March 4, 1938, passed away on Thursday, January 15, 2020, at her home.
She was a lifelong resident of the Spring City and Decatur area. She was a daughter of the late Eva Jo Fugate and father, Thea Fugate and was a member of the Pisgah Baptist Church.
She loved fishing, playing cards, gardening and all the fun times she spent with her family.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Lloyd Bostic and Horace Lankford, Jr., sisters, Louise Monday and Margaret Edwards, and a brother, Harold “Butch” Fugate.
Survivors include her loving sons, James Bostic, Jeffery (Kathy) Bostic, and Randall Bostic all of Decatur, sisters, Dorothy Reed of Grandview, Juanita Wilson, Vicki (Dennis) Edwards, Judy (Bill) Ward, and Deborah (Jim) Hampton, a brother, Bill (Betty) Fugate, all of Spring City; grandchildren, Wesley and Troy Bostic, Allen (Kathryn) Bostic Josh and Jake Bostic, Kristy Bostic, and Melissa (Ryan) Wells, several great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other extended family.
A funeral service will be held in the chapel of Bowers Funeral Home at 7 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 19, with the Reverend Charles Armour officiating.
Family and friends will assemble at 9 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 20, and proceed to Rhea Memorial Gardens for the 11 a.m. committal service.
The family will receive friends from 4-7 p.m. at the funeral home on Sunday prior to the service.
