It’s that time of year again babbyyy. NBA All-Star voting ends in 2 days, and it’s imperative that you cast your ballot. My love for All-Star Weekend is well documented. The celebrity game, the dunk contest, new sneaker releases, petty drama among foes turned teammates. Honestly, it’s a national holiday in my household.

So, I’m going to do things a little different from last year’s article.

My selections for the game will be listed, and the notable snubs will get a little explanation. Here we go:

Eastern Conference Selections:

Atlanta – Trae Young

Boston – Kemba Walker

Milwaukee – Giannis Antetokounmpo

Toronto – Pascal Siakam

Miami – Jimmy Butler

Eastern Conference Snubs:

Philadelphia – Ben Simmons. The 76ers consistently do the least with the most talent. On top of that they remain embroiled in drama and controversy. Things could get easier if Simmons would expand his offensive game.

Brooklyn – Kyrie Irving. The NBA’s most eccentric player has to play in more games to qualify for the All-Star game in my personal record book.

Philadelphia – Joel Embiid. Same rationale for not selecting Ben Simmons.

Detroit – Andre Drummond. 17/16 a night should be enough to be an All-Star. Drummond is my 6thman.

Western Conference Selections:

Houston – James Harden

Dallas – Luka Doncic

Los Angeles – Lebron James

Los Angeles – Anthony Davis

Denver – Nikola Jokic

Western Conference Snubs:

LAC – Kawhi Leonard. Use the All-Star break to do some more load management.

LAC – Paul George. I’m still mad at him for spurning the Lakers twice now.

Golden State – Steph Curry/Klay Thompson. Life is unfair and sports are unfair; this point is crystalized by the fact that BOTH Splash Brothers (Klay and Steph) are injured and out for the season. The sport needs both of them back ASAP.

Minnesota – Karl-Anthony Towns. I love KAT, but I’m generally disappointed in T’Wolves never improving. Hopefully he gets some help at the trade deadline.

Utah – Bojan Bogdanovic. The Jazz are going to be a tough out in the playoffs thanks in part to Bogdanovic playing so well next to Donovan Mitchell. For sure my 6th man.

Those are my NBA All-Star votes based on my contrived and sometimes petty logic. You have 2 days left to vote in the most important election of 2020. Do your NBA civic duty and vote!
