Held Long Career With Golden Flake And Was Longtime Member Of Fairview Baptist Church

Clifford L. Hartman, 84, of the Fairview Community went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, January 18, 2020 at his home.  

 

He was a lifelong resident of Walker County.  Mr. Hartman was a longtime active member of Fairview Baptist Church where he served as deacon, sang in the choir, worked in the nursery, and attended the Harvester’s Sunday School Class.  He was also a member of the Knights of Pythia’s Lodge.  For many years Mr. Hartman worked at Golden Flake and in the early 2000s he retired from Carden and Sims with over 15 years of service.  In his younger years, he could be found at the ballfields in Rossville and Ft. Oglethorpe coaching his daughter’s softball teams.  Mr. Hartman was an avid Georgia Bulldog fan, Atlanta Braves fan, he loved traveling, spending time at the beach, swimming, and working in the yard. 

 

He was preceded in death by his wife, Norma Hartman; and brother, Edward Hartman.

 

Survivors include his two daughters, Sheree (Mark) Dodd of Fairview and Tammy Thompson (Dennis Ritch) of Fairview; sister, Shirley Hall; three grandchildren, Kevin (Courtney) Dodd, Brooke Dodd, and Heather (Kia) Corbin; three great-grandchildren, Hudson Dodd, Harper Corbin, and Charlie Corbin; and several nieces and nephew.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, at 1 p.m. in the South Crest Chapel with Reverend Jim Bennett officiating.

 

Interment will follow in Beulah’s Chapel Cemetery, Flatrock, Al.

 

The family will receive friends Tuesday from 4-8p.m. at the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home and Crematory, located at the end of historic Missionary Ridge, Rossville.
