Retired From TVA After 31 Years And Was A Private Pilot

Ronald Wyatt Sanders, 78, of Soddy Daisy, passed away on Wednesday, January 22, 2020.  

Ronnie was born in Soddy Daisy on November 11, 1941. He retired from TVA working at Sequoyah Nuclear Plant as a pipefitter for 31 years. Ronnie was a private pilot. He was a member of the Chattanooga Rifle Club, an avid handgun and rifle shooter. Ronnie enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a member of the Daisy Masonic Lodge # 706 F&AM and the Alhambra Shrine where he was a member of the Drum and Bugle Corps.  

He was preceded in death by his parents, Wyatt and Ruth Sanders and wife, Laura Sanders.

Survivors are his sons, John Sanders (Rita), Edward Sanders; granddaughter, Kimmely Sanders; siblings, Gerald Sanders (Elizabeth), Sarah Williams (Rick); brothers-in-law, Jerry Doss (Shirley) and Robert Doss; numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.

Services will be on Saturday, Jan. 25, at 1 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Reverend Gerald Sanders officiating. Burial will follow at Gray Cemetery. Visitation is on Friday from 4-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
