Only 24 girls are picked each season to be on the McDonald’s All Star team and this year Chattanooga is home to three of them.

Treasure Hunt, a Kentucky signee, and Syracuse signee Kamilla Cardoso of Hamilton Heights will join Mississippi State signee Madison Hayes of East Hamilton on the floor of Houston’s Toyota Center on April 1st, for the ESPN2 televised contest.

All three are candidates for the Naismith Trophy.

While Hayes is the first-ever McDonald’s selectee from East Hamilton, Hunt and Cardoso join previous Lady Hawk selections Jazmine Massengill, a current starter at Tennessee, and Elizabeth Balogun, now at Louisville.

Massengill and Balogun were the first ever selectees from the Scenic City.

Hayes, a five star guard, is averaging 26 points and 29 minutes per game while adding 12 rebounds, 4.5 assists, 4 steals and 3 blocks for the Lady Hurricanes. She is just the second Mississippi State signee to play in the prestigious contest, joining last season selectee Rickea Jackson in the honor.

Kentucky signee Treasure Hunt, also a five star recruit, joins two other Lady Wildcat signees on the squad, Nyah Leveretter of Westwood High and Erin Toller from sacred Heart. The three make up a top 10 signing class for Kentucky.

Hunt is ranked as a top-10 player in the 2020 class by the All-Star Girls Report, while ProspectsNation.com tabs her as their 15th best player in the class. A five-star guard according to ESPN.com, Hunt, along with Hayes, was recently a gold medalist from the USA Basketball U18 3x3 Tournament, defeating some of the best players in the nation under the age of 18 in the event.

The Chattanooga, Tennessee, native was one of five women's players in the nation invited to Steph Curry's 30 Select Camp in 2019 and was also invited to USA Basketball U18 tryouts, the Slam Summer Classic in New York City, the John Lucas Top 160 Camp and was a member of the 2019 Run for the Roses All-Tournament Team.

Hunt, coached at Hamilton Heights by her mother Keisha, is averaging 21.4 points, 4.5 rebounds, 3.1 assists, 1.8 steals and 1.8 blocker per game.

Cardoso is averaging 17 points, 11 rebounds, four blocked shots and two assists per game this season for the Lady Hawks.
