George Thomas Madden, 87, of LaFayette, Georgia, passed away on Sunday, January 26, 2020 in a local health care facility.

He was member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church, retired from Mueller Company, and was a U. S. Army veteran. He was born on June 23, 1932 to the late Horace and Dora Lawrence Madden.

He was preceded in death by his son, Nathaniel Knowles; sisters, Irene Stamper, Nannie Dallas, Bessie Jackson, Odessa Wheeler and Sonora Stalling; and brother, William (Bill) Madden.

Survivors are his two sons, Anthony Madden, Rodrick Madden of Summerville, Ga.; grandchildren, Shannon A. Madden, Amery Chez Madden, Andrea LaShelle Madden, Sunsharre Jentay Madden; three great-grandchildren, Kevin, Seven, Marley Madden; sister, Elizabeth Cannon of Cleveland, Ohio; caregiver and niece, Robin Jackson; and a host of other loving nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, Feb. 1, at 1 p.m. at Mount Zion Baptist Church, 223 Dunwoody Road, LaFayette, Ga. with Pastor Rheubin M. Taylor and other ministers officiating.

The family will receive friends at the church one hour before the service.

Interment will be at Naomi Cemetery.

Arrangements are by Willis Funeral Home, Inc., Dalton, Ga.
