Kathleen Smith
Kathleen “Kat” A. Wilkey Smith, 91, of Chattanooga, went to be with the Lord on Monday, January 6, 2020.
Kat was born in Dayton, Tn., on Jan. 17, 1928, to the late James Arthur Wilkey and Julia Ann Smith Wilkey.
Kat was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was a member New Haven Baptist Church and also a member of the Red Hat Society Chattanooga Chapter.
She was preceded in death by her parents as well as her husband, McCallie “Lonnie” Smith; sons, David and Stevie Smith; and great grandson, Hayden McCallie Shelton.
Survivors include her son, Mack Smith (Julie); daughter, Susie Abernathy (Charlie); daughter, Kim Evers (Michael); daughter, Tina Shelton; nine grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 7, at Chattanooga Funeral Home North Chapel, Hixson.
Graveside funeral services will be on Wednesday, Jan. 8, at 11 a.m. at Hamilton Gardens with Reverend Robert Schrader officiating.
Arrangements are under the care of the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory and Florist, 5401 Highway 153, Hixson.
