Nikia Grasty
Nikia Kintay Grasty, was born on January 13, 1978, in Chattanooga to the late John Thomas McGuire and Carole E. Pasley (Grasty) both by whom he is predeceased.
Nicki, as he was affectionately known, grew up on the Southside of Chattanooga in St. Elmo where he attended Howard High School.
He accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as his savior at a young age where he served as a choir member at New Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church. He was employed with PuroClean as a Restoration Specialist, a job that he loved and took pride in. Nicki was loved by so many people and for different reasons. He was always a joy to be around. I guess you can say he was the life of the party.
Nicki, who departed this life on Friday, October 9, 2020, was predeceased by his parents, John T. McGuire and Carole E. Pasley (Grasty); grandparents, Wilbert P. Grasty, Anthony and Mary B Jackson; sisters, Ussery Jean Ashford and Catherine Scruggs; brother, Thomas James McGuire; uncles, Wilbert P and Robert A. Grasty.
Nicki’s life will forever be cherished by his sisters, Quita (Jermaine) Crockett, Geraldine Goode, Eloise (Phillip) Allen, Addie Sue Foster, Victoria (Elijah) Gray, Ethel Hood; brothers, Hosea Grasty, Johnny Jones, Charles (Gwendolyn) Cooper, Carl Preston (Loretta) Cooper and Germon (Charlie) Baker; nephews, Quinzell Grasty and Kinmar Williams; uncles, Anthony (Jwan) Jackson and Erich (Keysha) Grasty; aunts, Desire and Olivia Grasty; a host of other relatives and a very special devoted friend, Ms. Viral Williams
His spirit will live on through each of us.
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 23, at the funeral home.
