Sybil Chadwick
Sybil Kinsey Chadwick, 97, of Chattanooga, died peacefully on October 15, 2020 in the Spring City Care and Rehab Center.
She was born in Llangian, Wales on March 10, 1923, the daughter of the late Rev. Robert Owen Williams and Helen Kinsey Williams. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Dr. David Airey Chadwick.
Sybil was a registered nurse during World War II at the Manchester Royal Infirmary in the United Kingdom. There she met her husband, David, and they were married for nearly 60 years.

She stayed very active all of her life. After moving to Chattanooga in 1973, she became a full-time volunteer with the Houston Museum for nearly 30 years. She loved antiques and was often called on to value or even validate items. She and David were big fans of the Metropolitan Opera, traveling to see their productions.
She is survived by her three children, Jacqueline Kinsey of Salem, OR, Nigel (Nancy) Chadwick of Dayton, and Deborah Chadwick of Nashville. She is also survived by four grandchildren, Hugh, Anne, Elise, and Ruth, and two great-grandchildren, Branwen and Cerys.
A Celebration of Life gathering will be held on Friday, Oct. 23, from 1-4 p.m. at her son’s home at 333 Firetower Road on Dayton Mountain.
