Chattanooga State Announces “Drive-In To Your Future” Event

  • Tuesday, October 20, 2020

Chattanooga State Community College will hold a “Drive-in To Your Future” event to provide assistance with completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) on Thursday, Oct. 29 from 8 a.m.-8 p.m. in the Student Center on the main campus, 4501 Amnicola Hwy. This event is held in partnership with Tennessee Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators, Tennessee Student Assistance Corporation  and Tennessee Higher Education Commission. Personnel at instructional sites in Kimball and Dayton assist students in the Grundy, Marion, Bledsoe and Sequatchie counties during normal operational hours.

New and returning students are required to refile the FAFSA each year to receive student aid for the upcoming academic year. Prior to the event, the student and one parent must create separate Federal Student Aid ID usernames/passwords at fsaid.ed.gov.

Families should bring the following information/documents to the event:
Social Security numbers for the student and parent;
Student’s Driver’s License/permit, or state issued ID number;
Student’s Alien Registration number, if not a U.S. citizen;
2019 tax information (W-2, Schedule 1 and Schedule K-1 forms);
Records of untaxed income (child support, veteran education benefits);
Information on checking/savings balances, investments, business or farm assets; and
Email addresses for student and parent, if available.

In an effort to keep the campus and sites as safe as possible during the pandemic, Chattanooga State requires that each person follows safety protocols by completing the COVID questionnaire prior to coming to campus and sites. This form can be found here.
