Augustine “Sis” Keith, 84, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, October 18, 2020, surrounded by her loving family. Born in 1936 to the late August and Reba Rice, she grew up in Polk County and graduated from Polk County High School in 1954. She met a Bradley County boy at Parksville Lake one day and eventually married him and moved to Cleveland. Augustine was the epitome of a beautiful southern lady; gracious and kind, courteous and caring. She loved her family with a passion and was fiercely protective of her kids and grandkids. She loved to cook, sew and attend any and all sporting events her kids and grandkids participated in.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of nearly 60 years, George “Bert” Keith; infant son, Jeffrey Allen Keith; brother, C.L. Rice; sisters-in-law, Peggy Rice Meagher and Nelda Keith Wilhoit; and brothers-in-law, Donald Keith, Lowell Keith, Hugh Wilhoit and Don Whaley.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory, daughter, Kim Keith Campbell; son, Scott Keith and daughter-in-law, Ashley Keith; grandsons, Blake Cantrell, Luke Keith and Jake Keith; great-grandchildren, Brooklyn Cantrell and Jagger Cantrell; sisters-in-law, Thelma Keith, Faye Keith Whaley, Mary Keith, Nancy Keith Roberts and Carol Keith; brothers-in-law, Glenn Keith, Dale Keith and Daniel Roberts; several nieces, nephews, cousins and other extended family; and a host of friends.
The family would like to say a special thank you to two wonderful caregivers, Eva Phillips Conner and Dorothy Foster. They loved and cared for her as their own.
A Celebration of Life and Home going for Augustine “Sis” Keith will be held at 7 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 23 at the Cleveland Chapel of Companion Funeral Home, with Reverend Thomas Hindman officiating.
