Andrew Overby
Andrew Jackson "A.J." Overby, 71, of Rossville, passed away on Tuesday, October 21, 2020, at a local hospital.
He was retired from Bi-Lo grocery stores, where he worked in the Fleet Maintenance Department. A.J. was the founding member of the “Family Gospel Crusaders” and a member of a non-denominational church. He enjoyed playing music, singing, working in his yard, riding his tractor, adored his animals, but most of all loved spending time with his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Nobie Overby and daughter, Delisa Overby.
A.J. is survived by his wife of 53 years, Sheryl Jones Overby; sons, Jacky (Patty) and Jerry Overby; sisters, Wanda Howcroft and Gladys (Reece) Skyles; grandchildren, Drew, Amber, Brittany, Melissa, Justin, Mark, Ashley, Gabby and Christian and several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, Oct. 23, at 2 p.m. in the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home with Pastors Jacky Swanson and Paul Skyles officiating.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, Oct. 22, from 2-8 p.m.
Interment will follow in the Lakewood Memory Gardens, South.
Due to the health pandemic, social distancing will be observed and funeral service will be available via webcasting on our website.
