Georgia Has 17 More Deaths From Coronavirus; 1,491 New Cases

Georgia state health officials reported on Tuesday there have been 17 additional deaths due to the coronavirus. The new total is 7,844.

There were 1,491 new cases as that total reached 353,372 confirmed cases of coronavirus. 

Hospitalizations are at 31,256, up 169 from Monday. 

Here are the numbers by county:

Catoosa County: 1,429 cases, up 16; 22 deaths; 84 hospitalizations

Chattooga County: 940 cases, up 7; 29 deaths; 65 hospitalizations

Dade County: 355 cases, up 7; 6 deaths; 23 hospitalizations, up 1

Walker County: 1,877 cases, up 16; 43 deaths; 96 hospitalizations

Whitfield County: 5,410 cases, up 27; 64 deaths; 272 hospitalizations, up 3
