Roberta Burris, 87, a resident of Cleveland and native and longtime resident of Glasgow, Ky., passed away on Tuesday, October 27, in a local healthcare facility. She was born in Glasgow, Ky. on Sept. 20, 1933, a daughter of the late Lebus and Lois Frankum, and lived a majority of her life there until the last 16 years she relocated to Bradley county. Roberta was a member of Greenwood Baptist Church, she loved reading her bible, gardening and spending time with her family
In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her husband, H.T. Burris and one brother, Randall Frankum.
Roberta leaves behind to cherish her memory one son, Gary Burris and his wife, Chris, of Cleveland; two grandchildren, Ryan Burris (Hope) and Brandon Burris (Joy); four great-grandchildren, Austin, Julia, Caleb and Logan; numerous other extended family members; and a host of special friends.
A service celebrating her life is planned for Friday evening, Oct. 30 at 7 p.m. in the Cleveland Chapel of Companion Funeral Home, 2415 Georgetown Road in Cleveland. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 6-7 p.m. at the funeral home also.
The internment and committal service will take place on Saturday, Oct. 31 at 2 p.m. CST in the Beech Grove Cemetery in Glasgow, Ky.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made in Roberta’s memory to the Alzheimer’s Association.
