DAR members Michelle Scotchie and Stacy Kehoe bring teacher appreciation gifts to Matt Pollock of Grace Baptist Academy
The Judge David Campbell Chapter, NSDAR teamed up with the East Brainerd Road Starbucks to provide some teacher appreciation gifts for all 67 teachers and staff at Grace Baptist Academy.
This spring Grace took a direct hit from the Easter weekend tornadoes in the area. Many buildings on their campus were destroyed, and the teachers had to readjust to the tragedy while navigating the new Covid-19 challenges.
During their October Service Project month, the DAR chapter raised the funds for all teachers to receive a Starbucks gift card as a thank you for their tireless effort. Starbucks General Manger Seth Van Hines met the challenge to help and donated 20 bags of coffee to the school along with 67 reusable plastic cups with lids. Another two bags of coffee were donated from the Starbucks Gunbarrel location. Additional money was also available to help with the school’s supply wish list.
On Friday, members of the Judge David Campbell chapter delivered the items to Head of School Matt Pollock at the Grace Baptist Academy campus. Mr. Pollock expressed his "sincere appreciation for the thoughtful gifts for his teaching team."
