Ruby J. Arnold, 89,  of Hixson, passed away on Friday, October 30, 2020.

Ruby was born in McRoberts, Ky., and moved to Dayton in 1949.  She retired from Chattanooga Group in 1994.  Ruby was a longtime member of Hixson United Methodist Church and the Sam McConnell Sunday School Class.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Glenn W. Arnold; parents, Mr. and Mrs. Morgan Dillard; sisters, Sue, Shirley, Agnes, Betty, Ella Mae, and Bill; brothers, A.C. and Gaines. 

Ruby is survived by two children, Wes (Gina) Arnold and Beth (L.C) Gosnell; grandchildren, Amber Benton and Doug Benton; and six great-grandchildren.  

The family will receive friends from 10-11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 3, at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home.

Funeral services for Ruby will follow at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday at the North Chapel with Reverend Chuck Starks and Reverend Randy Martin officiating.  Burial will be in Hamilton Memorial Gardens.

The family would like to thank the special transportation angels that took Ruby to church, gospel singing, and to the beauty shop. They also would like to say thank you to the staff at Dominion Senior Living and Hearth Hospice for the care given to Ruby.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Ruby’s name to Hixson United Methodist Church, 5301 Old Hixson Pike, Hixson, Tn. 37343. 

 

Arrangements are by the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory and Florist, 5401 Highway 153, Hixson, Tn. 37343.
