Priscilla Mae “Big Mama” Billups Robinson, 89, of Chattanooga, passed away on Sunday, November 15, 2020, in the Hospice Care Center.

Priscilla was born on August 14, 1932 to the late Lucy and Fletcher Billups in Rome, Ga.  As a young child, she moved to Cleveland, Ohio and returned back to Chattanooga, where she was formally educated in the public school system.  She was a teacher at the Orange Grove Center for 37 years and the proprietor of Herman's Soul Food and Catering. She retired after 37 years from Orange Grove Center. 

In her spiritual journey, she joined Olivet Baptist Church and was baptized at an early age. Later, she attended the Faith Temple Baptist Church which was founded by her mother, Lucy, and uncle, Moses, and pastored by Rev. Willie C. Hill.

In 1974, she joined the New Enon Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Andrew  J. Bullard, Jr. and continued her service under the leadership of Pastor Andrew J. Bullard, III.  She was a faithful member of the Nurses' Guild and the Mothers' Board until her health failed her.

On Sunday, November 15, 2020, heaven rejoiced when God called our Angel here on earth home to receive her wings and suffer no more.  

She was preceded in death by her parents, Fletcher and Lucy Billups; husband, Herman Robinson; niece/daughter, Juliette Billups; two brothers, Robert Billups, Bobby Billups, Roy Cooper; devoted friend, Geraldine C. Mays.

She will be greatly missed but never forgotten by those she leaves to cherish her memories: sons, Lewis (J. She will lie in state on Sunday, Nov. 22, from 12:30-5:00 p.m. at Taylor Funeral Home. 

Family services will be on Monday, Nov. 23, at 1 p.m. in the chapel with Pastor Andrew Bullard, III as the eulogist. 

Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery.
