Hattie Mae Lawrence, 66, of Chattanooga, passed away on Monday, November 2, 2020, at her residence.   

She was a 1971 graduate of Riverside High School.  She continued her education at Chattanooga State Community College and received her bachelor’s degree. Hattie retired as a licensed practical nurse from Erlanger Health Systems.  She was a member of Silver Crest Baptist Church. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Edna Davis; brothers, Thomas Davis, Anthony Davis, and Clifford Davis; sister, Johnnie Mae Davis; and sister-in-law, Annette Mathis. 

Survivors include her sons, Clarence (Jessica) Walker and Donnell (Chundon) Hayes; devoted niece, Charlette Davis, all of Chattanooga; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; brothers, James Mathis, Eddie Davis, and Melvin (Linda) Davis; sister, Betty (John) Gordon, all of Commerce, Ga.; Pastor R.L. (Loretta) Trammell of Athens, Ga.; and a host of other relatives and friends.  

Hattie will lie in state on Sunday, Nov. 8, from 12:30-5 p.m. at Taylor Funeral Home. 

Family services will be on Monday, Nov. 9, at 1 p.m. in the chapel with Pastor Randy Petersen as the eulogist. 

Burial will be in Lakewood Memory Gardens, East.
